Where do these prices come from?
From the chains themselves. Every figure is read from a chain's own published pages - either its national price list or the menus on real location pages - and the date it was checked is shown next to it.
Why is a price shown as a range?
Most of these chains are franchised, so the owner of each location sets the price. A range is the honest answer: the low and high are real published prices from real locations, not an estimate.
How often are prices updated?
Every figure carries the month it was last checked. The site re-checks the chains' published pages on a schedule and updates anything that changed. Franchise prices can move between checks, so confirm with the location before relying on a figure.
Why is a chain I expected not listed?
Because it publishes no prices on its public site. Supercuts, Cost Cutters, Hair Cuttery, Massage Envy and Hand & Stone are examples. We list what a chain publishes and never fill a gap with a guess.
